Happy Birthday to First Female Teacher of India, Savitri Bai Phule
Darbhanga : On the birth anniversary of Savitri Bai Phule, the first female teacher of India, a Happy-Birthday ceremony was solemnized on the premises of Adarsh Middle School Lahariyasarai, Darbhanga yesterday on 3rd January, 2020 . All the teachers and students of the school paid floral tribute to the departed soul of first and great lady teacher Savitri Bai Phule.
Principal Sanjeev Kumar Mishra in his brief speech on this commemoration said that she was from India. She was the first female teacher of our country. She was also a social reformer and Marathi poetess.
Teacher Arun Kumar Choudhary said that she established a school for girls. She, along with her husband Jyotirao Govindrao Phule, carried out some remarkable work in the field of women’s rights and women’s education. She is considered as a pioneer of modern Marathi poetry. The school teachers- Indu Devi, Manju Thakur, Nirmala Kumari. , Premlata Kumari, Sarita Kumari, Baby Kumari, Md. Sajid Hasan and assistant teacher Lalbabu, etc. were also present on the occasion.
